Lebanon: The Country in Crisis SNOC Employees Rise to Aid Beirut

Besides the explosion in the country, Lebanon was facing an unending difficult time which is not only trying to curb the spread of the coronavirus but is also facing its worst economic crisis and the damage is expected to exceed $10 billion. Beirut Port Explosion killed more than 200 people, wounded more than 6,000, and destroyed/damaged the homes of around 300,000 people. The explosion also destroyed Lebanon’s strategic reserve of wheat, which was adjacent to the explosion site. It is said that the explosion strength was equivalent to one-tenth of the nuclear explosion that destroyed Hiroshima in WW2.
SNOC recognized staff members who generously donated to the call to give support to Aid Beirut. The CEO was glad that staff members have willingly donated for this good cause. As was decided, SNOC matched the donation and a check of AED 52,100 was handed over to UAE Red Crescent on August 26, 2020. Source: BBC News
