Advisor to H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmad Al Qasimi

After serving as CEO of Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) for a decade, Hatem Al Mosa was appointed as Advisor to H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, President of SNOC, in April 2025. He continues to play a pivotal role as a valued member of SNOC’s Leadership Team. In 2024, he was also named Secretary General of Sharjah’s newly established Energy Council, where he oversees the strategic planning and development of the emirate’s energy sector. In that same year, he was appointed as Director General of the Sharjah Petroleum Department (formerly Council).
Hatem has vast experience in the oil and gas industry. He started his career with Amoco Sharjah Oil Company as a Plant Engineer in 1986. He held various management roles in engineering, operations and integrity management in Amoco, BP and Crescent Petroleum.
He joined Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) when it was established in 2010 as a Technical Control Manager, then Operations Manager. He was named Chief Executive Officer of SNOC and Secretary General of Sharjah Petroleum Council (now Sharjah Petroleum Department) by Amiri Decree in November 2015.
Under Hatem’s leadership, SNOC has made two gas discoveries in Sharjah after a lull of 37 years, started a new and expanding LPG business, initiated a strategic gas storage project, constructed Sharjah’s largest solar power plant and has become the main gas supplier to Sharjah Electricity, Gas and Water Authority (SEWA). SNOC has also become the biggest contributor to fundamental research with Sharjah’s universities.
He received BSc Degree with Honors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1984, and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie- Mellon University in 1986.
